Assistant Restaurant Manager at one of Los Angeles's most prestigious 5-Star properties.

As an Assistant Restaurant Manager, you will be a vital part of our team, utilizing your core skills in staff training, management, and food service to oversee daily operations and ensure exceptional customer experiences. With premium skills in inventory control, fine dining experience, and restaurant management, you will contribute to maintaining high standards and optimizing efficiency. Your relevant skills in catering, barista experience, and casual dining will further enhance our offerings and elevate our service quality. Responsibilities:

• Handles employee questions and concerns
• Oversee events for the restaurant/hotel
• Primary sales efforts are in Banquet Food and Beverage and includes menu planning, agenda setting and hotel meeting services. Duties also include contract review and facilitating communication before, during and post event with pertinent hotel staff to ensure a high level of service
• Monitors employees to ensure performance expectations are met
• Provides feedback to employees based on observation of service behaviors
• Assists in supervising daily shift operations
• Supervises restaurant and all related areas in the absence of the Director of Restaurants or Restaurant Manager
• Ensures all employees have proper supplies, equipment and uniforms
• Communicates to Chef and Restaurant Manager any issues regarding food quality and service levels
• Ensures compliance with all restaurant policies, standards and procedures. Monitors alcohol beverage service in compliance with local laws
• Performs all duties of restaurant employees and related departments as necessary
• Opens and closes restaurant shifts
• Providing Exceptional Customer Service
• Supervises staffing levels to ensure that guest service, operational needs and financial objectives are met
• Handles guest problems and complaints
• Strives to improve service performance
• Coaches and counsels employees regarding performance on an on-going basis and enforcing LQA standards (Leading Quality of Assurance)
• Assists servers and hosts on the floor during meal periods and high demand time.

Qualifications:

• Must have a minimum of 4 years of experience as an Assistant Manager or Manager working in a fine dining restaurant environment that has catered events and banquets.
• Must have restaurant management experience in a hotel or resort environment.
• A combination of hotel restaurant management and fine dining restaurant is considered.
• 5-Star hotel experience a big plus.
• Must know MICROS and OpenTable
• Must have ServSafe certification
• Must have TIPS certification
• Physical Requirements: Pushing/Pulling: Average weight 30lbs constantly. Lifting/Carrying: Average weight 30lbs constantly

Compensation:

• $70,000-$80,000 annual salary
