Job Description
Tyler Houk (Practice Director) with Robert Half is looking for a skilled and proactive Cost Accountant to join our manufacturing team in Visalia, California. This role is critical in ensuring the efficient management of cost accounting processes, while contributing to the overall financial health of the organization. The ideal candidate will bring a strong analytical mindset, leadership capabilities, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with plant personnel to train, develop, and motivate staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Implement strategies to optimize manufacturing costs by effectively utilizing resources, including employees, equipment, and materials.
• Oversee production scheduling to ensure timely delivery of quality products that meet established standards.
• Conduct monthly inventory reviews, track stock turnover, and manage annual audits to support accurate financial reporting.
• Utilize Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, such as SAP Business One, and Microsoft Excel to analyze and manage data.
• Develop and maintain safety training programs in compliance with regulatory requirements, ensuring a safe workplace environment.
• Supervise plant maintenance activities, including coordinating repairs, managing technicians, and implementing process improvements.
• Create and maintain schedules for equipment maintenance to enhance operational efficiency.
• Provide leadership in production activities and serve as a backup for the Plant Production Manager when required.
• Undertake special projects and additional tasks assigned by senior management to support organizational goals.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven management experience, with a track record of effective team leadership and development.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with excellent organizational and planning capabilities.
• Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP Business One and advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
• Ability to multitask, troubleshoot complex issues, and implement solutions effectively.
• Efficient and self-motivated individual with high integrity and a creative approach to problem-solving.
• Demonstrated ability to build cohesive teams and foster collaboration across departments.
