Overview Data Scientist Responsibilities Apply advanced analytics techniques through broad parameters on big, unstructured data sets; work with the most complex big data sets Direct exploratory data analysis from complex data sources and build complex data sets Collaborate with Data Engineers to identify relevant data sets; review and provide feedback on data pipelines and optimization opportunities Take an active role in determining overall data science strategies and help define the continuing evolution of the data science discipline to meet business needs Monitor the effectiveness and performance of data science solutions and services to the business and direct efforts to continually improve business value Design complex data science models to predict outcomes or impact of key decisions; contribute to development of critical, transformative business strategy Review and apply latest cutting-edge research on data science and model development Bring external machine learning perspectives and best practices to the organization Oversee the design of automated, operational analytics processes to achieve scale and durability of analysis processes using Python Design testing strategies for evaluating algorithms and machine learning systems Lead development of proof-of-concept prototypes to prove out hypotheses Manage stakeholders across multiple functions to implement models into production and monitor their performance Act as data science lead on agile teams; lead and guide team members on development practices in agile environments; collaborate with scrum masters and coaches to move projects forward Qualifications Electrical grid engineer Experience with data sets; knowledge of DER impacts on grid operations, control, and planning Understanding of system protection, distribution automation, 3 phase power system analysis, distribution design, planning, or control/operations SCADA and AMI data CIM network model Load flows OpenDDS, Matpower, PSS/E, Cyme, pypower, PSAT, GridCal, or GridLAB Designs and implements data storage for unstructured data sets; defines how data will be stored, consumed, integrated and managed Experience with big data platforms and data pipelines b.
