Job Summary The Housing Navigator plays a crucial role in assisting individuals and families in securing stable and affordable housing. This position involves working closely with clients to assess their needs, provide support, and connect them with appropriate housing resources. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, a background in social work or property management, and a thorough understanding of housing regulations. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients’ housing needs and challenges. Develop individualized housing plans that align with clients’ goals and circumstances. Provide crisis intervention and support to clients facing housing instability. Facilitate communication between clients and landlords or property management companies. Negotiate lease agreements and terms on behalf of clients when necessary. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Fair Housing regulations, Section 8 programs, and LIHTC properties. Utilize OneSite or similar property management software for tracking client progress and housing opportunities. Collaborate with community organizations to enhance resources available for clients. Offer guidance on addiction counseling services when applicable to support overall client well-being. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or AA degree in Social Work, Human Services, or a related field preferred. Experience in property management or knowledge of housing laws is highly desirable. Familiarity with crisis intervention techniques and addiction counseling is a plus. Strong negotiation skills to advocate effectively for clients’ housing needs. Understanding of Fair Housing regulations and HUD Rapid Rehousing processes. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with diverse populations. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
