Job Title: Research Assistant / Medical Assistant (Clinical Research) – Contract

Location: Manhattan, NY

Contract Duration: 3–6 months

Schedule: 3 days a week, around 8 hours a day, 20-30 hours a week

Start Date: June

Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Research Assistant/Medical Assistant with prior clinical research experience to support an ongoing study. This is a contract position (3–6 months) ideal for candidates with a strong understanding of clinical protocols and patient-facing responsibilities in a research setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with study coordination, including participant scheduling and data collection
• Support regulatory compliance and proper documentation according to study protocols
• Collect and record vital signs, medical histories, and study-related assessments
• Prepare and process laboratory specimens per protocol
• Ensure accurate and timely data entry into electronic data capture (EDC) systems
• Collaborate with clinical staff and investigators to maintain smooth study operations
• Assist with subject recruitment and informed consent process

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year of experience in clinical research or a medical setting
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent clinical training preferred
• Familiarity with GCP (Good Clinical Practice) and ICH guidelines
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, research-driven environment
• Experience with EDC systems and basic phlebotomy (preferred but not required)
