Job Description

Responsibilities

• Perform routine laboratory tests to support the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.
• Set up, operate, adjust, maintain, and clean laboratory equipment.
• Collect and prepare specimens, cultivating, isolating, and identifying microorganisms for analysis.
• Conduct chemical analyses of body fluids (e.g., blood, urine) using microscopes and automated analyzers to detect abnormalities or disease.
• Analyze, record, and interpret test data; prepare reports including charts, graphs, and written summaries.
• Examine stained cells to identify abnormalities and consult with pathologists when necessary.
• Perform blood tests for transfusion purposes, blood counts, and other related testing.
• Collect blood or tissue samples from patients in accordance with aseptic principles.
• Maintain accurate documentation of test results in compliance with laboratory standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Medical Technology or vocational training preferred.
• 5–7 years of laboratory experience required.
• Microbiology experience strongly preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• High attention to detail with the ability to analyze data and accurately record findings.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Knowledge of medical laboratory testing techniques and disease diagnostics.
