Responsibilities

Perform routine laboratory tests to support the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.
Set up, operate, adjust, maintain, and clean laboratory equipment.
Collect and prepare specimens, cultivating, isolating, and identifying microorganisms for analysis.
Conduct chemical analyses of body fluids (e.g., blood, urine) using microscopes and automated analyzers to detect abnormalities or disease.
Analyze, record, and interpret test data; prepare reports including charts, graphs, and written summaries.
Examine stained cells to identify abnormalities and consult with pathologists when necessary.
Perform blood tests for transfusion purposes, blood counts, and other related testing.
Collect blood or tissue samples from patients in accordance with aseptic principles.
Maintain accurate documentation of test results in compliance with laboratory standards.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Medical Technology or vocational training preferred.
5–7 years of laboratory experience required.
Microbiology experience strongly preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
High attention to detail with the ability to analyze data and accurately record findings.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
Knowledge of medical laboratory testing techniques and disease diagnostics.
