Job Opportunity With Marine Corps Community Services

Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team. MCCS is a comprehensive program that supports and enhances the quality of life for Marines, their families, and others in the Marine Corps Community. We offer a team-oriented environment comprised of military personnel, civilian employees, contractors, and volunteers who keep the organization functioning smoothly and effectively.

Responsibilities include operating a personal computer (PC) and peripheral equipment to produce a variety of civilian and military correspondence, spreadsheets, charts, reports, and graphs using a wide variety of software programs. You will transmit and receive documents and messages electronically using PC network or links to other computers. Proofreading all prepared correspondence and checking for completeness and conformance to applicable instructions and regulations is also part of the role. You will operate PC using graphics applications to produce various graphic materials as required. Additionally, you may type and prepare statistical data sheets, brief recruit platoons on products available for purchase, place orders for products, and utilize PC software to balance recruit's receivable account with accounting. You will research and reconcile discrepancies with accounting, answer recruit's questions regarding their account charges or balances, and take additional orders at final pay. Taking platoon pictures with a digital camera and maintaining personal identification information IAW with prescribed regulations and ensuring confidentiality and security of information are also key duties. Safeguarding sensitive information and preventing unauthorized reading, printing, retaining, copying, or dissemination of information, messages, or correspondence in accordance with rules and regulations such as those covered by the Privacy Act, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, and DoD Directive 6025.18 is crucial. Notifying the higher level supervisor and senders immediately when personal identification information has been released and advising on how to properly recover and/or protect information is also required. Providing world-class customer service with an emphasis on courtesy, assisting customers, communicating positively in a friendly manner, acknowledging customers, smiling, making eye contact, asking questions to determine, verify, and solve problems, checking for satisfaction on the quality of goods and services, taking action to solve problems quickly, alerting the higher level supervisor or proper point of contact for help when problems arise, adhering to safety regulations and standards, using required safety equipment, observing safe work procedures, promptly reporting any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor, and adhering to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment are also part of the role. Performing other related duties as assigned, such as assisting in photography of platoon pictures, is also expected.

Requirements include minimum one year of experience in the operation of a personal computer and related office equipment, knowledge of a variety of integrated software programs, and knowledge of general clerical procedures. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs may be required.
