Job Description

Looking for a meaningful, high-impact side opportunity? Join a team where your expertise truly changes lives.

At The Princeton Review, our private tutoring program is our most personalized and premium service. Our students are ambitious, striving for admission to top-tier colleges, pursuing competitive scholarships, or seeking tailored support that goes beyond the classroom. To help them succeed, we’re looking for exceptional educators who are not only strong academically but also passionate about supporting high school students.

Tutoring with us means more than teaching test strategies; it’s about creating an outstanding experience for students and their families. You’ll bring subject mastery, professional polish, adaptability, and the interpersonal skills to build trust and guide each student with care. If you thrive in a one-on-one, tech-forward teaching environment and are committed to helping students reach their highest potential, we’d love to have you on our team.

How You’ll Help Students Succeed:
  • Personalize tutoring sessions by tailoring the curriculum to meet individual student needs, adapting in real time to their strengths, goals, and areas for growth.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by building trust with students and families, providing thoughtful updates, and addressing questions and concerns with professionalism and care.
  • Confidently manage a dynamic calendar that may include students with different schedules, timelines, and learning objectives.
  • Equip students with critical knowledge about the new digital SAT format, ensuring they feel prepared and confident.
  • Juggle multiple responsibilities during online sessions by presenting material, responding to questions, and navigating platform tools.
  • Motivate students using Princeton Review’s proven, results-driven curriculum.
  • Communicate consistently with students, families, and TPR staff to ensure alignment on progress, requests, and goals.
  • Create a welcoming and encouraging learning environment where students feel supported and empowered to succeed.
What We’re Looking For:
  • 3+ years of professional experience teaching in high schools or tutoring high school students in a structured, formal learning environment.
  • Strong track record of clear, responsive communication that ensures students and families feel supported.
  • Virtual teaching experience with interactive tools (whiteboards, chat, polls) strongly preferred.
  • Availability during evenings and/or weekends. Summer daytime availability is a plus.
  • Reliable internet connection and computer in a quiet, dependable location.
  • Applicants must achieve a 90 percent on a timed content exam covering both math and verbal questions.
  • Pass a paid 6-week Instructor Certification course upon hire which includes both self-paced assignments and live training sessions.
Why You’ll Love Tutoring for The Princeton Review:
  • Get paid for both training and prep time, with resources that set you up to succeed.
  • Earn competitive hourly rates for your expertise.
  • Grow with performance-based raises and bonuses that reward your impact.
  • Teach with a provided syllabus while tailoring lessons to each student’s goals and needs.
  • Benefit from ongoing professional development to sharpen your skills.
  • Receive support from a dedicated mentor during your first months of tutoring.
  • Access exclusive discounts on courses for you and your family.
