Job Title: Oracle DBA
Location: Charlotte, NC (Onsite)
Experience Required: 8–15 years
Desired Skills: Oracle | Oracle DBA | PL/SQL

We're looking for an experienced Oracle DBA to join our team onsite in Charlotte. You'll be responsible for managing and optimizing Oracle and Cassandra databases, ensuring high performance, data integrity, and scalability. The role involves working closely with development and DBA teams to support mission-critical applications and large-scale data environments.

Key Skills

  • Strong expertise in Oracle PL/SQL
  • Experience with Oracle GoldenGate replication
  • Hands-on with Cassandra, CQL, and DataStax tools
  • Solid SQL performance tuning and troubleshooting skills
  • Familiarity with IBM DataStage (a plus)
  • Understanding of Agile and SDLC development models
  • Knowledge of data management best practices
  • Comfortable working in distributed, multi-time zone teams
  • Experience with database development, optimization, and indexing strategies
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing environments
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and planning skills

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain complex PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, triggers, and views
  • Analyze execution plans and apply indexing strategies for performance optimization
  • Ensure database normalization, integrity constraints, partitioning, and effective indexing
  • Troubleshoot and tune SQL performance issues
  • Support Oracle GoldenGate replication and large-scale database environments
  • Assist with Cassandra database troubleshooting and optimization
  • Collaborate with DBAs for capacity planning and system tuning
  • Work with global teams to support deployments and upgrades
  • Participate in Agile development cycles and follow SDLC practices
  • Provide solutions for database upgrades and roadmap planning
  • Lead discussions and drive resolution for technical challenges

Job Position Summary

As a Database Engineer, you will be responsible for managing Oracle and Cassandra databases with a strong focus on performance, reliability, and data quality. You'll work closely with DBA and development teams to define, develop, and maintain database systems that support core business functions. The role requires experience with large, replicated databases and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential, along with the ability to work in a global delivery model and lead technical discussions toward effective solutions.
