Position Summary

The Service Manager – Electrical & Generator Maintenance oversees our generator preventative maintenance and electrical service departments. This leadership role ensures work is performed efficiently, safely, and in line with company standards—while meeting operational goals for customer satisfaction, quality, and revenue. The Service Manager leads approximately 25 field technicians, ensuring continuous improvement across electrical and generator services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations for generator maintenance and residential electrical service teams.
  • Manage scheduling and coordination with the dispatch team to achieve performance targets.
  • Coach and develop field technicians in ServiceTitan and operational best practices.
  • Conduct ride-alongs, inspections, and technical audits for quality assurance.
  • Oversee preventative maintenance schedules and ensure all visits are completed on time.
  • Champion customer service excellence and represent Reliable Power Systems values in every interaction.
  • Approve timesheets, calculate incentives, and monitor adherence to timekeeping and performance policies.
  • Collaborate with purchasing and inventory teams to ensure timely procurement of job materials.
  • Coordinate with permitting teams to ensure permits are properly obtained and tracked.
  • Support recruiting, onboarding, training, and retention of service personnel.
  • Identify process improvements and revenue growth opportunities—particularly through generator upgrades and add-ons.
  • Participate as an active member of the leadership team in strategic and operational planning sessions.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience with a residential services company in the electrical or generator maintenance industry.
  • Strong technical background in electrical systems and generator maintenance, including familiarity with Generac, Kohler, and other major brands.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and industry software such as ServiceTitan (preferred).
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail in documentation, reporting, and scheduling.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to OSHA best practices.
  • Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record.

Education & Certifications

  • Electrical or mechanical trade school background preferred.
  • Current electrical or mechanical certification a plus.
