Job Description

We’re hiring a Senior Low-Voltage Engineer . This is a brand new role , designed for someone ready to take the lead and shape it into something uniquely theirs. You’ll be responsible for all aspects of a project, from initial design through construction close-out, working with minimal supervision. But beyond technical execution, you’ll also partner with our Marketing team , helping demonstrate the value of our solutions and playing a key role in business development .

This is an opportunity to blend engineering excellence with strategic impact — and to define what success in this role looks like.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design of low-voltage systems (i.e., Voice/Data Cable Infrastructure, CATV, Security, Access Controls, Telecommunication and Wireless systems, and other specialty Low-Voltage systems).
  • Serve as a technical resource throughout all project phases – providing expert guidance during bidding, design development, permitting, and construction to ensure seamless execution and alignment with project goals.
  • Design systems that are code-compliant, contract-compliant, and cost-effective by thoroughly reviewing scopes of work, project specifications, drawings, and legal contracts to ensure alignment with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Mentor and provide strategic guidance to junior and mid-level team members, fostering their technical growth and professional development. Facilitate knowledge sharing, training, and leadership opportunities across the team.
  • Help resolve workflow issues, and address project bottlenecks.
  • Conduct site visits and field investigations to validate design implementation and address on-site challenges as they arise.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals, ensuring long-term client satisfaction.
  • Exhibit leadership and management capabilities, ensuring successful team collaboration and project execution.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of the Low-Voltage department and the company. Provide feedback on improving processes, standards, and methodologies to ensure the company remains competitive and innovative.
  • Take personal ownership of the work produced.

Required Qualifications:

  • Completion of vocational school, military technical training, college degree, or equivalent field experience in low-voltage design, with 5–8 years of hands-on experience in low-voltage system design preferred.
  • Certification in one of the following areas:
  • BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD)
  • InfoComm Certified Technology Specialist – Design (CTS-D)
  • ASIS Physical Security Professional (PSP)
  • NICET fire alarm level 3 or 4
  • Extensive proven relevant technical, leadership, and field experience.
  • Proven leadership experience managing complex, large-scale projects, with demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and mentor junior staff.
  • Experience working in a professional A/E office, Consulting Firm, Construction Contractor, or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office , Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and other design-related software.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-disciplinary teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple large projects simultaneously, including managing timelines, budgets, and resources, with a focus on achieving client satisfaction and high-quality outcomes.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, with occasional bending and the capacity to lift up to 10 lbs. as needed.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed for project meetings, site visits, or client engagements.
