**Structural Welder - San Diego, CA** **Job Description** We are seeking skilled Structural Welders to join our team, offering competitive compensation based on experience. As a Structural Welder, you will be responsible for welding steel, aluminum, and stainless-steel materials using SMAW, GTAW, and/or GMAW processes in all positions. You will perform various tasks as assigned by your supervisor. **Responsibilities** + Perform tack, fillet, and full penetration welding on steel foundations and structural and pipe joints. + Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards. + Set up welding machines based on job specifications or Welding Procedure Specification. + Weld steel, aluminum, and stainless steel components according to required processes and parameters. + Adhere to specific welding procedure specifications. + Set up welding cells for serial production runs. + Maintain clean and organized work areas and care for equipment and facilities. + Comply with safety rules and quality standards. + Collaborate with team members to optimize productivity and efficiency. + Assist in product preparation for shipment. + Report unsafe work conditions or practices to the supervisor. + Lift raw materials, final products, and packed items manually or with a hoist. **Essential Skills** + Proficient in Flux core, Mig, and Stick welding. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding specifications. + Experience with SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW welding processes. + 2-3+ years experience for 2nd Class Welders and 5+ years for 1st Class Welders. + Experience with steel, aluminum, and/or stainless steel welding. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions. + Willingness to learn and possess a dependable work ethic. + Knowledge of welding equipment and proper setup and use. + Familiarity with the metric system. + Ability to stand for long periods. + Willingness to work 40+ hours a week. **Work Environment** + Work will be performed aboard USS Green Bay (LPD 20). You will be expected to adhere to safety protocols and quality standards while working in a dynamic marine environment. **Job Type & Location** + This is a Contract position based out of San Diego, CA. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
