FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Reports to: Headmaster

Work Hours/Days: AS NEEDED-School days from 7:10 to 3:30, and 3:30

Position Summary:

Are you passionate about classical education and supporting the culture of a growing classical charter school?

We are looking for a substitute teacher who can support our school by serving as a substitute teacher whenever a teacher is out.

The ideal candidate will be a results-driven team player with the capacity to manage multiple projects and thrive in a dynamic environment.

Essential Functions:

  • Follow lesson plans to teach and supervise classes as needed on a daily basis
  • Respond promptly to teacher requests for a substitute teacher
  • Communicate with teachers by leaving notes for them on the day's events, progress, or challenges, including substitute teacher binders and lesson plan needs
  • Build positive relationships with students by holding them to high standards of conduct
  • Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information.
  • When no substitute teachers are needed, provide assistance with daily operations of the school, such as supervision of beginning and end of day routines and procedures, lunch and recess times, and other transitional periods, and providing other instructional support in and out of the classroom
  • Maintain collegial, professional relationships with colleagues and staff
  • Perform other related duties as required

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Adherence to all school policies
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Regular and punctual attendance
  • Ability to develop positive and professional relationships with team members
  • School experience preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds
  • Must be able to traverse the classroom and the school
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer
  • Must be able to supervise outdoor duties
