Position Summary: The Department of Psychology & Neuroscience in the College of Arts and Sciences at North Central College invites applications for a tenure-track position in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, to begin August 1, 2026.
The duties in this role include: - Provide instruction for a variety of Psychology courses, including Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Statistics, Personality, Psychological Assessment, and/or Research Design and Experimentation, carrying a teaching load of 20 credits per academic year.
- Assess students work and provide detailed feedback on how to improve their content knowledge, critical thinking skills, oral and written communication skills, etc.
- Develop curricula for courses, minors, graduate certificates, and potential majors in Industrial/Organizational Psychology by coordinating with other academic departments to develop a curriculum that meets the needs of students in a wide range of academic areas.
- Mentor undergraduate students through one-on-one and group interactions, as well as internship and independent study opportunities.
- Engage students in research as applicable.
- Attend conferences and workshops as necessary to remain active in the field(s) of study; engage with the Department of Psychology & Neuroscience to further develop teaching and mentoring skills; complete campus-wide training required by the Offices of Academic Affairs and Human Resources.
- Pursue current and new research activities in the field of Industrial/Organizational Psychology, including new research projects, writing/dissemination of current and future research, and presentation of research at conferences.
- Perform other departmental duties and attend activities as necessary, including attending department meetings, and participating in committees, task forces, and others as required.
Basic Qualifications: - The successful candidate will have completed a doctorate in Psychology.
- Applicants must demonstrate commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring of students, and ongoing scholarship.
Salary Ranges: - Assistant: 62,000-67,000
- Associate: 72,000-78,000
- Professor: 83,000-88,000

- Assistant: $62,000 $67,000
- Associate: $72,000 $78,000
- Professor: $83,000 $88,000
The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the selected candidates experience and qualifications, including equivalent years in rank, training, and field or discipline; internal equity; and external market pay for comparable jobs.
