Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery role requiring a current CA RN license, advanced certifications, and two years of recent L&D experience.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

• Position is in an acute hospital Labor & Delivery unit
• Unit consists of 14 L&D beds, 2 OR suites, and performs triage in L&D
• Patient population includes laboring, induction, cesarean, antepartum with complications, fetal demises, and triage patients 20 weeks gestation or greater
• Average of 3-4 births per day
• RN ratios adhere to AWHONN guidelines
• RNs are required to titrate drips such as Pitocin, insulin, and magnesium
• Electronic charting is done using Cerner with Fetal Link
• 12-hour night shifts, three shifts per week, every other weekend required
• One on-call shift required every two weeks
• No floating required
• Scrubs are light blue and provided for each shift
• One-day unit-specific orientation provided
• Work with a team that includes an OB tech and 24/7 in-house OB and Neonatologist coverage
• Pulse oximetry used routinely; telemetry monitoring is provided for magnesium patients
• Required to pass unit-specific testing on dysrhythmia and sterile technique as part of orientation
• Holiday coverage includes one major and two minor holidays
• First to float if unit-based floating becomes necessary
• Orientation includes 12 hours on the unit

\n \n Requirements\n

• Active CA RN license is required for consideration
• Minimum of 2 years of current Labor & Delivery RN experience required
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, Advanced Fetal Monitoring, and NIHSS
• Experience with electronic charting using Cerner preferred
• Ability to titrate obstetric drips required
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the past 3 years
• Copy of driver's license must be provided
• Must not have been employed by any facility associated with CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the past year
