\n\nJob Description\n

The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities while preventing illness and injury, and alleviating suffering through diagnosis and treatment of human responses. The RN advocates for individuals and families in their care and is responsible for compliance with all standards of practice in accordance with the New York State Nurse Practice Act and United Health Services policies.

\n\nResponsibilities\n

\n
• Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care.
\n
• Educate patients and families on health promotion and disease management.
\n
• Utilize knowledge of pharmacology to safely administer medications.
\n
• Participate in nursing governance and improvement initiatives.
\n
• Engage in professional development and continuing education.
\n
• Provide a supportive environment for new employees and students.
\n
• Perform other duties as assigned.
\n

\n\nRequired Experience / Certifications / Licensure\n

\n
• Current NYS RN License.
\n
• BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).
\n
• Experience in a cardiac telemetry department, preferably with TAVR, watchmans, mitral clips, heart catheterizations, and postoperative care.
\n
• Direct nursing experience of 6 months to 3 years.
\n
• Knowledge of anticoagulants, cardiac drips, CHF, CP, arrhythmias, NSTEMI, STEMI, PE, post-op CABG, and other related conditions.
