Job Description

We are looking for a highly motived person who is reliable and has a great work ethic to join our warehouse team. The main duties of this career opportunity involve managing the flow of products within a warehouse, from receiving and storing goods to preparing and shipping orders. They must be accurate and efficient in retrieving inventory to fulfill customer orders. The role is physically demanding and requires close attention to detail. Other duties include inventory cycle counts, and cleanliness of warehouse.

Core order selection tasks

• Receiving and reviewing orders: Order pickers begin their process by receiving pick tickets or digital instructions, often through a handheld RF scanner or voice-picking headset.
• Locating and retrieving products: They use the information on their pick lists to navigate the warehouse and locate the specified items from shelves, racks, and storage areas.
• Verifying accuracy: As items are selected, pickers scan or manually check product codes and quantities to ensure they are fulfilling the order correctly.
• Transporting items: Pickers use equipment like manual or electric pallet jacks, or sometimes forklifts, to transport items and completed orders to the packing or shipping area.
• Packing and preparing orders: Once collected, items are placed into boxes or stacked onto pallets according to packaging guidelines. Pickers then often shrink-wrap and label the finished orders for shipment.
• Loading and staging: They move prepared orders to the loading dock or staging area, sometimes helping to load them onto delivery vehicles. 

General warehouse responsibilities

Beyond the core picking process, order selectors often have additional warehouse duties. These include: 

• Maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
• Reporting any inventory discrepancies or damaged goods to a supervisor.
• Assisting with inventory counts, such as cycle counts.
• Adhering to all company safety procedures and regulations.
• Meeting or exceeding established productivity and accuracy goals. 

Safety and Collaboration

• Report issues: Immediately report any safety hazards or damaged inventory to a supervisor.
• Teamwork and communication: Work cooperatively with other warehouse staff and supervisors to meet daily productivity goals.
