Overview of the Opportunity

Tiger Hill Partners (THP) is actively building its public affairs and communications practice, with an immediate opening for a versatile communicator to support our financial services and technology clients. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to meaningfully participate in client engagements with direct guidance from the firm’s Managing Partners. S/he will be a key team member within the public affairs and communications function of a fast-growing consultancy, across a strong roster of name-brand clients. It is a role best suited for a communications professional with an interest in accelerated career growth through firsthand exposure to the powerful intersection of communications, public policy, and politics.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

Client Deliverables: Write and edit a variety of client materials (e.g., executive commentary, presentations, key messages, advocacy-oriented insights, policy updates, one-pagers, etc.)

Account Support: Provide day-to-day support on client requests, and as appropriate and under the guidance of your manager, interface directly with clients.

Firm Support: Manage the firm’s external presence and support the research and drafting of firm-initiated communications, such as THP insights, THP trend assessments, and commentary, speeches, and messaging.

Business Development: Support new business opportunities by conducting research, preparing presentation decks, and drafting proposals.

Required Skills and Candidate Profile

Communications Skillset: Ability to produce communications materials in sync with, or beyond, client expectations. This requires the following skills:

  • Excellent technical and persuasive writing, research, and analysis abilities
  • Ability to track, assess, and report on industry, policy, and/or political developments and trends
  • Ability to distill and frame policy or policy-related issues into easy-to-understand messages. Graphic design capabilities a plus

Network Development: Interest and ability to cultivate a growing network of media, think tank, third-party contacts via general outreach, events, conferences, and similar opportunities.

Project Management: Ability to track and manage client timelines through strong attention to detail, and a desire to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, deadline-driven environment.

Knowledge Development: Ability and interest in staying up to date on industry news, global affairs, public policy, and political developments.

Firm Ambassadorship: Ability to effectively promote the firm, operate with the highest level of integrity, a diplomatic demeanor, and sensitivity to confidential information.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred

• 3-5+ years of communications experience gained at a top communications and/or public affairs agency or well-respected company or organization.
