Position Description

As a Network Pre-Sales Engineer, you will be a trusted advisor to both prospective and existing clients, helping them navigate and select optimal network infrastructure solutions that align with their business needs. You'll leverage your technical expertise and communication skills to support sales efforts, develop solution architectures, conduct product demonstrations, and build relationships with key decision makers. This role combines a solid foundation in networking technologies with consultative selling, making you a key player in securing new business and expanding existing client relationships.

Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with client technical advisors, business development teams, and implementation teams to identify client needs and deliver tailored network infrastructure solutions
  • Conduct discovery meetings and technical assessments with clients to evaluate existing environments and recommend improvements
  • Conduct technical assessments and deliver recommendations to clients
  • Design and present proposed IT solutions based on industry best practices and manufacturer standards (e.g., Cisco, Meraki, Palo Alto)
  • Deliver compelling technical presentations, demos, and proofs of concept to prospective clients
  • Create detailed proposals, statements of work, and solution diagrams to support business development efforts
  • Establish rapport and credibility with key stakeholders and decision makers
  • Identify and communicate cross-sell and upsell opportunities
  • Work with delivery teams to ensure a smooth handoff from pre-sales to implementation

Basic Qualifications:

  • Degree or certification in an IT-related field
  • 3-5 years of experience with network infrastructure technologies such as Cisco, Meraki, and Palo Alto
  • Solid understanding of Layer 2/Layer 3 networking and dynamic routing protocols
  • Strong communication and presentation skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to travel up to 25% for client meetings and presentations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in IT consulting or pre-sales with mid-market clients
  • Active certifications (e.g., CCNP, Meraki, Palo Alto) preferred
  • Experience with wireless networking and SD-WAN technologies
  • Experience with network security technologies, such as SSE and SASE
  • Strong client service orientation and ability to build lasting relationships
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value for clients

At RSM, an employee's pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $107,000 - $214,500

Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
